Terms & Conditions

1. AGENCY REPRESENTATION & CLIENT RELATIONSHIP

Maquette Agency (“Maquette Agency”, “the Agency”, “we” or “us”) represents models and talent for fashion, commercial, advertising, editorial, media, promotional and related assignments.

Models authorize Maquette Agency to act on their behalf in connection with professional bookings, including negotiating assignments, agreeing fees and usage terms, confirming bookings, administering commercial arrangements, and collecting payments.

For each confirmed assignment, the Client engages the model through Maquette Agency, which acts as the model’s authorized representative and booking intermediary.

The representation of a model by Maquette Agency does not create an employer-employee relationship between the Agency and the model. Unless otherwise expressly agreed in writing, the model is not an employee of Maquette Agency.

Maquette Agency is authorized to issue invoices and collect all amounts payable in connection with the model’s booking on the model’s behalf.

2. BOOKING CONFIRMATION & ACCEPTANCE

Every confirmed booking is governed by the specific terms stated in the applicable booking confirmation together with these Model Representation & Booking Terms.

The booking confirmation may specify the model, date, call time, location, duration, fees, usage rights, territory, exclusivity, wardrobe requirements, special conditions and any other relevant details.

The Client is responsible for reviewing the booking confirmation and notifying Maquette Agency of any discrepancy or requested amendment before the assignment begins.

Once the Client confirms or proceeds with the booking, these Terms & Conditions will apply to the assignment.

Any change to the confirmed booking must be approved by Maquette Agency in advance. Changes may include, without limitation, additional looks, outfits, working hours, locations, usage, exclusivity, styling, content requirements or production conditions.

An amendment made without the Agency’s prior approval will not alter the agreed booking terms.

Where the Client requests additional looks or outfits, an additional charge of EGP 1,000 per outfit will apply unless a different amount has been agreed in writing.

3. RATES & BOOKING FEES

Model rates are determined by Maquette Agency on an assignment-by-assignment basis.

The quoted rate may depend on factors including the selected model, nature of the project, level of exposure, production scale, shooting duration, location, number of looks or outfits, complexity of the assignment and intended usage.

Image usage rights are separate from the model’s service fee unless expressly included in the booking confirmation.

A Booking Confirmation Fee equal to 50% of the total confirmed booking amount is required to secure the model’s availability.

The Booking Confirmation Fee represents the Client’s commitment to the booking and is non-refundable except where Maquette Agency expressly agrees otherwise in writing.

The remaining 50% balance is payable upon the model’s arrival at the confirmed booking location, unless alternative payment arrangements have been agreed in writing.

4. WORKING HOURS & OVERTIME

Model fees are charged on either an hourly or daily basis, as specified in the booking confirmation. A minimum booking of three (3) hours applies to all bookings.

For standard bookings, a “day” consists of an eight (8) hour period, including preparation time and break, within the general working window of 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Examples include 8:00 AM–4:00 PM, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM, or 10:00 AM–6:00 PM.

Work required before 8:00 AM or after 8:00 PM will be subject to the applicable extra rate.

A twenty (20) minute grace period applies after the confirmed finishing time. No additional charge will apply where the booking concludes within this period.

Where the model is required to continue working for more than twenty (20) minutes beyond the confirmed finishing time, a full additional hour will be charged.

Maquette Agency does not charge overtime in half-hour or quarter-hour increments.

Bookings taking place on Fridays and Saturdays will be charged at 1.5x the model’s standard hourly rate.

Public Holiday bookings will be charged at 2x the model’s standard hourly rate.

Any booking exceeding five (5) hours will be charged at the applicable day rate stated in the booking confirmation.

For commercial productions and/or TVC assignments, a “day” consists of a twelve (12) hour period, including preparation time and meal breaks.

Overtime for commercial and TVC assignments is charged at 20% of the model’s confirmed day rate per hour for the first two (2) overtime hours.

Any additional overtime beyond the first two (2) hours will be charged at 50% of the model’s day rate per additional hour.

5. CONFIRMED BOOKING HOURS

The Client is responsible for the full number of hours confirmed at the time of booking.

If the Client completes the assignment earlier than the scheduled finishing time, the original confirmed booking fee remains payable.

If the Client requires the model to work beyond the confirmed hours, the applicable overtime or additional-hour charges will apply.

A request to reduce the confirmed working hours made less than two (2) working days before the booking will not result in a reduction, adjustment or partial refund of the Booking Confirmation Fee or the agreed booking amount.

6. PAYMENT METHODS

All payments relating to model bookings must be made directly through Maquette Agency.

The Agency currently accepts payment by bank transfer.

Payment made directly to a model does not constitute payment to Maquette Agency and does not release the Client from any outstanding obligation under the booking.

7. TRAVEL & OUT-OF-TOWN BOOKINGS

Where an assignment requires the model to travel outside the model’s normal working area, the Client is responsible for applicable transportation, accommodation and other reasonable travel-related expenses.

Travel days required for an out-of-town assignment may be charged at 50% of the applicable model day rate unless otherwise agreed in the booking confirmation.

Any requirement for domestic or international travel must be disclosed to Maquette Agency before the booking is confirmed.

The Client is responsible for ensuring that transportation and accommodation arrangements are safe, suitable and appropriate for the model.

8. LOCATION BOOKINGS & SAFETY

For assignments taking place at a specific location, the Client is responsible for assessing the location and identifying any potential health or safety risks before the model arrives.

The Client must take appropriate measures to eliminate or reduce foreseeable risks and must provide Maquette Agency with relevant information regarding any unusual or potentially hazardous working conditions.

The Client acknowledges that the model’s health, safety and well-being must remain a priority throughout the assignment.

Maquette Agency may request additional information or reasonable safety measures where the Agency considers them necessary.

9. FITTINGS, CASTINGS & PRE-PRODUCTION

Fittings, rehearsals, castings, preparation sessions and other pre-production activities may be charged separately where applicable.

The applicable rate and duration will be communicated by Maquette Agency before the activity is confirmed.

Where a fitting or pre-production requirement involves travel outside the model’s normal working area, the Client may also be responsible for the model’s reasonable transportation expenses.

10. GROOMING & MAINTENANCE REQUESTS

If the Client requires the model to arrange professional grooming or maintenance services before the assignment, the Agency must be informed and approve the request in advance.

This may include manicure, pedicure, spray tanning, hair services, beauty treatments or other professional preparation.

The Client will be responsible for the actual cost of any approved service, including applicable appointment or transportation expenses, and these costs may be added to the Client’s invoice.

11. SLEEPWEAR & UNDERWEAR

Bookings involving sleepwear will be charged at 2x the model’s standard hourly rate.

Bookings involving underwear will be charged at 3x the model’s standard hourly rate.

Any assignment involving nudity, implied nudity, intimate content or significant exposure must be disclosed to and specifically approved by Maquette Agency before the booking is confirmed.

The model will not be required to undertake any such activity outside the scope of the approved booking.

12. ADDITIONAL MODEL SERVICES

Services outside a standard model booking may be arranged separately and will be subject to additional fees.

Such services may include:

  • Brand ambassador engagements
  • Personal appearances
  • Product launches
  • Events
  • Presentations
  • PR activities
  • Promotional appearances
  • Social media campaigns
  • Sponsored content
  • Other special promotional services

The scope, fee, deliverables and conditions for such services must be agreed with Maquette Agency before the service is provided.

13. PRINTED PUBLICATION & ADDITIONAL USAGE

The use of a model’s images in printed publications may require additional usage fees.

The Client must provide complete information regarding intended image usage when making the booking.

Any use beyond the agreed scope must be submitted to and approved by Maquette Agency before publication, distribution or commercial exploitation.

Images used without the Agency’s prior written approval may be considered unauthorized usage and may result in additional usage charges and/or applicable penalties.

14. USAGE RIGHTS

The Client’s right to use the model’s image is limited to the specific usage, media, territory, duration and purpose agreed in the booking confirmation.

The booking fee does not grant unrestricted or unlimited image rights.

Additional fees will apply where the Client wishes to use the model’s image, likeness, reproductions, adaptations or related representations outside the originally agreed scope.

Additional usage may include:

  • Advertising and paid media
  • Packaging
  • Posters and promotional materials
  • Billboards and outdoor advertising
  • Showcards
  • Record or album covers
  • Swing tickets and tags
  • E-commerce
  • Websites
  • Social media
  • Digital advertising
  • Online publications
  • Streaming platforms
  • Editorial and promotional media
  • Any other digital or physical media

Digital usage includes, without limitation, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, X, Snapchat, Pinterest, websites, blogs, digital publications and other existing or future digital platforms.

The Client must disclose all intended usage requirements at the time of booking.

Any additional usage must be negotiated and approved by Maquette Agency before the content is used.

Usage outside the Arab Republic of Egypt requires prior approval from Maquette Agency and may be subject to additional territorial usage fees.

Any image or content used outside the agreed scope without prior written authorization may be treated as unauthorized usage and may be subject to additional fees and/or penalties.

15. EXCLUSIVITY

Unless expressly stated otherwise in the booking confirmation, all model bookings are non-exclusive.

A model may therefore work with other clients, brands, products or competitors, including competing products or brands of the Client.

Where the Client requires exclusive or semi-exclusive representation or image usage, an exclusivity arrangement must be negotiated with Maquette Agency before the booking.

Exclusivity may apply to a specific product category, business sector, competitor group, territory and/or period.

The applicable exclusivity fee must be agreed and paid before the exclusivity becomes effective.

The Client is responsible for communicating any competitors or categories that it wishes to restrict.

16. PROVISIONAL BOOKINGS & HOLDS

A provisional booking or model hold does not constitute a final confirmed booking.

Unless otherwise agreed, a hold must be confirmed within forty-eight (48) hours by completing the required booking confirmation process.

If the Client does not confirm the booking within the applicable period, Maquette Agency may release the model’s availability to other clients without further obligation.

17. CANCELLATION POLICY

Cancellation by the Client

If the Client cancels a confirmed booking:

  • Cancellation within forty-eight (48) hours of the confirmed call time: the 25% Booking Confirmation Fee will be retained and will not be refundable.
  • Cancellation within twenty-four (24) hours of the confirmed call time: 60% of the Booking Fee will be charged and payable by the Client.
  • Cancellation after the model has arrived at the confirmed booking location: 100% of the confirmed booking fee will be charged and payable by the Client.

Cancellation by Maquette Agency

Should Maquette Agency need to cancel a confirmed booking, the Agency will use reasonable efforts to provide the Client with appropriate notice and, where reasonably possible, offer a suitable replacement model or alternative arrangement.

Weather-Related Cancellations

For weather-related cancellations, 50% of the Booking Fee will be charged and payable by the Client upon the first cancellation, provided that the cancellation is communicated within sufficient time to prevent the model from attending the booking.

If the Client fails to provide sufficient notice and the model attends the confirmed location, 100% of the confirmed booking fee will be charged.

18. MEALS & BREAKS

For bookings exceeding five (5) hours, the Client is responsible for providing appropriate meals and beverages for the model.

The Client should take reasonable dietary requirements into consideration.

For extended productions, appropriate meal and rest breaks must be provided to ensure the model can work safely and comfortably.

19. MODEL WELFARE & PROFESSIONAL CONDUCT

The Client agrees to provide a professional, respectful and safe working environment.

The Client must ensure that:

  • The model’s health, safety, dignity and well-being are protected.
  • Working hours and conditions are reasonable and appropriate.
  • Appropriate rest and meal breaks are provided.
  • No activity unnecessarily places the model’s health or safety at risk.
  • No illegal, abusive, discriminatory, exploitative or unethical practices take place.
  • The workplace remains free from harassment, intimidation, bullying and abuse.
  • Models have an appropriate and confidential means of reporting harassment or abuse.
  • Suitable changing and dressing facilities are available.
  • Reasonable privacy is maintained.
  • Suitable temperature and general working conditions are provided.
  • Appropriate food and beverages are available during extended bookings.
  • Suitable accommodation and transportation are provided where required.
  • Appropriate insurance coverage is maintained by the Client when the model is working under the Client’s direction or through a third party.
  • Employees, contractors, freelancers, representatives and other persons connected with the Client do not abuse their position or perceived authority.

The Client must not pressure, threaten, coerce or otherwise compel a model to participate in any activity outside the agreed and approved scope of the booking.

20. AGE, CONTENT & MODEL PROTECTION

For models under eighteen (18), all work, styling, clothing, content, working hours and working conditions must be age appropriate and comply with applicable laws and regulations.

Models under eighteen (18) must not be engaged for inappropriate or adult-oriented clothing, advertising, lookbooks, e-commerce, catwalks or other content unsuitable for their age.

For models under sixteen (16), an appropriate parent, guardian or authorized chaperone must be present where required.

Any significant change to the model’s agreed appearance, styling, image, concept or role must be communicated to and approved by Maquette Agency before implementation.

Nudity, implied nudity, intimate content or any significant increase in exposure requires specific prior discussion, approval and consent through Maquette Agency and may be subject to additional fees.

The model must not be required to perform any activity that was not disclosed and approved as part of the booking.

21. IMAGE INTEGRITY

The Client must not use the model’s image in a manner that is pornographic, defamatory, degrading, deliberately humiliating or reasonably likely to cause reputational harm.

Images must not be materially altered, distorted or manipulated in a way that misrepresents the model or creates an inappropriate representation without prior approval.

Any usage that materially changes the context or intended meaning of the original campaign must be submitted to Maquette Agency for approval.

22. FASHION SHOWS & CATWALK BOOKINGS

A fashion show or catwalk booking grants the Client the right to use the model for the specific event identified in the booking confirmation.

Photography and video recording of the event may be permitted for event coverage and reporting purposes.

Such material may not automatically be used for advertising, paid promotion, product campaigns, sponsor advertising or third-party commercial purposes.

Any additional commercial use must be separately negotiated and approved by Maquette Agency.

The Client is responsible for ensuring that photographers, videographers, sponsors, production partners and other third parties involved in the event comply with the applicable usage restrictions.

23. TEST & EXPERIMENTAL PHOTOGRAPHY

Where Maquette Agency approves a model’s participation in a test, portfolio or experimental shoot, the resulting content may only be used for the purpose agreed before the session.

The photographer, Client or any other participant may not commercially sell, license, publish, advertise or otherwise exploit the material beyond the agreed purpose without prior approval from Maquette Agency.

24. SOCIAL MEDIA, INFLUENCER & AMBASSADOR BOOKINGS

Where a Client books a model or talent to promote a product or service through personal social media channels, the required deliverables will be agreed before the booking.

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, the model retains reasonable creative control over the final selection of images, presentation and wording.

The Client may provide approved campaign messaging, product information, mandatory disclosures, hashtags and other reasonable requirements.

The Client may not materially change the agreed concept or require the model to publish content outside the confirmed scope without prior Agency approval.

A social media obligation will be considered fulfilled once the agreed deliverables have been completed in accordance with the confirmed booking terms.

25. CREDITING

Where a model credit is applicable, the Client should use the model’s name together with the applicable Maquette Agency credit or official Agency handle.

The required credit format may be specified by Maquette Agency for individual campaigns, platforms or publications.

26. THIRD-PARTY CLIENTS & PRODUCTION PARTNERS

Where the Client books a model on behalf of a third-party brand, company, production house, photographer or other end user, the Client is responsible for ensuring that the relevant third party is informed of and complies with these Terms & Conditions.

No third party may receive image usage, exclusivity or other rights exceeding those purchased and approved through Maquette Agency.

The Client remains responsible for all agreed payments unless Maquette Agency has expressly agreed to another payment arrangement in writing.

27. CLIENT WARRANTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

By confirming a booking, the Client confirms that:

  • It has the legal and commercial authority to enter into the booking.
  • The person confirming the booking is authorized to represent the Client.
  • All information supplied regarding the assignment is accurate.
  • It has obtained all required permits, licenses, permissions and approvals.
  • The assignment will comply with applicable laws and regulations.
  • All relevant health and safety requirements will be met.
  • Maquette Agency will receive all information reasonably required to prepare the model for the assignment.
  • Any unusual location, travel, production, wardrobe or content requirement will be disclosed before confirmation.
  • The model will be treated professionally and in accordance with applicable legal and industry standards.

28. AGENCY AUTHORITY

All negotiations concerning model fees, image usage, exclusivity, additional services, extensions and amendments must be conducted through Maquette Agency.

The Client, photographer, production company or other third party must not negotiate additional commercial terms directly with the model.

Any separate agreement, verbal commitment, document or undertaking obtained directly from the model that changes or expands the confirmed booking will not be binding on Maquette Agency unless the Agency subsequently approves it in writing.

This includes additional usage, unpaid promotional activity, additional working hours, exclusivity and changes to the nature of the assignment.

29. COMPLAINTS

Any complaint or concern regarding a model or the assignment should be reported to Maquette Agency as soon as the issue arises.

The Agency will make reasonable efforts to address legitimate concerns while the assignment is ongoing.

Complaints raised after the completion of the assignment may be more difficult to investigate or resolve and should therefore be communicated promptly.

30. FORCE MAJEURE

Maquette Agency will not be responsible for a delay, cancellation or failure to perform an obligation where the circumstances arise from an event outside the Agency’s reasonable control.

Such circumstances may include natural disasters, fire, severe weather, governmental restrictions, civil unrest, war, strikes, transportation disruption, public emergencies, technical failures or other unforeseeable events.

Where reasonably possible, Maquette Agency will communicate with the Client and seek an appropriate alternative arrangement.

31. GENERAL TERMS

The booking confirmation and these Model Representation & Booking Terms together define the agreed scope of the assignment.

Any change to the agreed rate, working hours, usage, territory, exclusivity, styling, location, content or other booking condition may result in additional charges and must be approved by Maquette Agency in advance.

Maquette Agency reserves the right to review and approve material changes to an assignment where those changes may affect the model’s safety, image, working conditions, commercial rights or agreed scope of work.

By confirming or proceeding with a booking, the Client acknowledges and accepts these Model Representation & Booking Terms together with the specific terms contained in the applicable booking confirmation.
